Volunteering Vacancies

Since the CWA was established in 2016 it has been run by a small team of less than a dozen Trustees and volunteers.  We have expanded our activities and fundraising significantly and would really welcome some assistance.  We are always looking for help in administration roles which can be done from home, and also assistance with outdoor work like surveying footpaths and assessing potential new projects.

Our specific needs at the moment are for a Membership Officer, an Assistant for our Online Shop and for Trustees.  Here are a few details …

Membership Officer

CWA membership is handled by the Membermojo software package which is linked to the Join Us page and automatically processes membership applications and renewals.  However we need a Membership Officer to oversee the operation of the software and to maintain contact with our members.  It is not anticipated that the role of Membership Officer will take more than a two to three hours a week.

Online Shop Assistant

The CWA online shop was set up in 2021 and sales of merchandise relating to the Cotswold Way has developed swiftly.  The shop is currently run by Malcolm Higgins, our Secretary, and he would really appreciate some help in the day to day operations. This involves receiving shop orders by email, collating and packaging them and despatching those orders.  It is anticipated that this role would take up to 5 hours a week in busy times.

Trustees

We are always interested in hearing from people who love the Cotswold Way and are keen to make sure it remains one of the UK’s best walking trails.  If this sounds like you then why not consider being a Trustee of the Cotswold Way Association.

Trustees can have an “executive” role by taking on specific tasks or responsibilities requiring regular activity and interaction with other agencies, or a more passive “non-executive” role by bringing knowledge and experience to our quarterly meetings but not taking an active role.

For more information email our Chairman, John Bartram at admin@cotswoldwayassociation.org.uk .

Other Roles

We are also interested to hear from you if you would like to help us with any of the following …

  • Assisting with the routine updating of this website which operates using WordPress software.
  • Getting out to assess the condition of the trails supported by the CWA to identify potential improvement projects.
  • Management of projects funded by the CWA and inspections of completed projects.
  • Assisting with the preparation of the Cotswold WayMarker, the CWA newsletter sent out to members and others.

Let us know if you think you might be able to help in any way, by sending a message through our Contact page.
